Where will the Reunion be held?
The 2014 Homeschool ALUMNI National Reunion will be held in Turner, Oregon (just outside of Salem, OR) from July 2, 2014 - July 5, 2014.
Who are the speakers going to be?
Click here for more information about this year's speakers and programs.
What types of activities can I expect?
This is a "reunion" more than it is a conference, so there will be a lot of time to get to know your fellow graduates and spend time with friends old and new. We're also organizing great talks by our featured guests, interactive workshops, an English Country dance, praise and worship time, games, sports (volleyball, disc golf, ultimate Frisbee, etc.), a bonfire, plenty of conversation, lots of time to hang out with friends old and new, and a few special surprises. Check out The Itinerary for the details on everything that has been announced thus far.

Who is eligible to attend?
This event is by and for homeschool graduates (ages 18 and up), but spouses and parents of graduates (regardless of educational background) are welcome and invited to attend at the alumni rate.
Do I need to be 18 or older to attend?
The Homeschool ALUMNI National Reunion is open to homeschool graduates who will be 18 years of age on or before the time of the Reunion (July 2, 2014) . Homeschool graduates of at least 16 years of age may attend the Reunion if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
What if I haven’t been homeschooled all my life? Or what if I finished high school elsewhere? Can I still come?
You bet! If you were homeschooled for a year or more, you're welcome and invited!
My parents are not interested/able to attend, but they'd like to visit with someone in their age group to get a parent’s perspective on HSA and the National Reunion.
Click here to find several letters written by the parent's of Homeschool ALUMNI's graduates who have attended past Reunions.
What is the camp’s exact address?
Click here for detailed travel information.
I have special dietary considerations, can you accommodate my needs?
Our host facility is able to provide a special menu designed to accommodate particular dietary needs and concerns for no extra charge. Just make a note on your Reunion registration form of what your needs are and we will pass that on for you. You are also more than welcome to bring your own meals. Unfortunately, however, we are not able to deduct the cost of meals from the registration price.

When is the last day I can register to come to the Reunion?
Registration will remain open until June 25, 2014 ... or until we're sold-out!
When does early-registration end?
Early-Bird Registration ends May 30, 2014.
Can I purchase a "day pass" and come to the events for just one day?
We are not able to offer a separate registration option for one-day attendees. We’d love for you to come and stay the weekend, but come when you can and stay as long as you can.
Can I stay at off site lodging and commute to the Reunion facility each day?
The Reunion is a lot more more like a retreat than a conference, so coming and going to offsite lodging is not an option we offer - except in two cases:
I live nearby, is there a lower registration rate if want to stay at home and commute to the Reunion each day?
Since most people fly (or road trip) from all across the the country, it's not a question we get often, but we do have people from the local community each year and we understand the desire to save a little money by staying at home and commuting to the Reunion each day. At the same time, we've found an unfortunately disjointed atmosphere arises when you have the "local crowd" staying at nearby homes, and the "out-of-towners" at the retreat center. It may sound somewhat inconsequential at first glance, but we've found that the coming-and-going significantly breaks the continuity and the sense of community that's otherwise built throughout the event. If it were a typical conference, it'd be a different story; but in that sense the Reunion is more like a retreat than a conference. We want you to come and get the full experience. If you're local, and struggling to justify the cost, perhaps it helps to keep in mind that the majority of graduates travel a great distance at the expense of a road trip or plane ticket, so as a local attendee, you already have the lowest total cost! If finances are your make-or-break, you may want to consider applying for a scholarship.
Can I save some money bringing my own meals?
You're welcome to bring food and (non-alcoholic) beverages, but we can't make price adjustments on that basis.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
We're able to offer a 30% refund for cancellation requests received 60 days before the event. Email events@homeschoolalumni.org to cancel your registration.
ACTIVITIES
Can I bring musical instruments, games and sports equipment?
Yes! Impromptu jam sessions, games, and sports are highlights of the National Reunion. For details see: What to Bring.
What is English Country Dancing?
English Country Dance (ECD) is an easy to learn traditional folk dance, similar to most old-fashioned folk dances. If you’ve seen a Jane Austen movie (Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, etc.), Gone with the Wind, A Christmas Carol, or Revolutionary to Civil War era reenactments, you’ve seen this form of dance. The emphasis is on groups of partners as opposed to couples and it’s generally considered proper to change partners after each dance. Not the dancing type? Don’t worry; this will be one of several concurrent activity options.

The Reunion is a lot more more like a retreat than a conference, so coming and going to offsite lodging is not an option we offer - except in two cases:
- medical necessity
- for homeschool graduates who are parents of little ones who need to spend the nights at home (or at offsite lodging).
Note: We totally understand that it's sometimes easier to keep a bunch of little kids on their nap schedules, etc, if you stay at a nearby home or hotel, so if that describes your situation please drop us a note and we can make an exception to the normal registration policy for this circumstance.
